I stayed at Madrid Downtown Hostel for a few nights on a solo trip. The staff at the front desk spoke English and were incredibly friendly and funny - I even made some new Romanian friends! The rooms were spacious and clean, and I loved the idea of a living room near the reception where I could chat with other travelers. The bathroom had a shower gel dispenser, which was a convenient touch. Despite being packed with people, the hostel was surprisingly quiet. Mary at the front desk was especially helpful, and they even stored my luggage for a minimal price. The use of duvets instead of just a sheet was a nice touch, and the bathrooms were always clean.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The location of this hostel was amazing! It was so convenient being close to the main train station and a beautiful park in the center of the city. Additionally, the kitchen facilities were good, despite being a bit cramped. It was great to have a place to cook and save some money on meals. The wifi in the main area was also a nice perk, making it easy to stay connected while relaxing in the common space.
One of the negatives was the size of the rooms. They were quite small and didn't offer much space to move around.

The hostel offered flexible room options, allowing me to easily change from a mixed room to a female room. The location was key, as it was conveniently near the center of the city. Additionally, the staff was incredibly helpful and ensured a safe and comfortable stay.
The hostel lacked proper facilities for studying, such as proper chairs and tables. It was challenging to find a suitable place to work or study.
